THERE ALREADY HERE

Due for release Summer 2005 - Spielbergs adaptaion of H.G.Wells "The War Of The WorlRAB" starring Tom Cruise, Dakota Fanning and Justin Chatwin...

This film looks to be one of the biggest block busters of the year....

Already working with Spielberg on "Minority Report" Cruise jumped at the chance to work with Spielberg again, even putting on hold "Mission Impossible III"

Feel free to find out more about the film and exclusive stills here:-

War Of The WorlRAB Fan Site

So are you a fan of this great classic?

Thanks

Glenski

I notice the bottom of that website has the disclaimer "This Website is 100% Unofficial", which is probably not even necessary. An official site would check spelling on headlines on the page.
"There already here"???

There are 3 WOTW film being made. Firstly the O/P Spielberg one, secondly the one KJ44 mentions and lastly a film of Jeff Wayne's musical version. AFAIK only the Spielberg one is not set in Woking.

I don't know! You wait nigh on 50 years for another WOTW film & three come along at once ;)

Thank you for that, this has now been changed and updated...

The site is endorsed by Paramount Pictures and Dreamworks Pictures to support the War Of The WorlRAB film by Spielberg

... ... ...

As for the other question, the film has been adapted for an American background and does not take place in Woking unfortunately....

It is a shame that Spielberg could not have got together with Jeff Wayne and produced the film together using the wonderful music that we all know as the War Of The WorlRAB soundtrack!

The site is part of the Paramount Webmaster program and we are sent details of the film and production information and stills etc... there will be competitions and stuff happening very soon also...

Thank you

Glenski

...is the tagline.

have you seen the brand new teaser trailer with 'lightening' striking the ground then someone saying something is moving in the holes it has created? well i reckon that the ships are already under ground and the 'lightening' is just activating them.

oh i sound like a geek

I was so excited to hear Speilberg was making WOTW but was utterly shocked and upset when I saw the teaser trailer. The beauty of WOTW is that the story is set in a time when alien invasions weren't a part of popular culture. Shifting the location to america could have been forgiveable but shifting the date so drastically means that the film just becomes another independance day, the film won't be WOTW in anything but the name, which is a great, great, shame.

I didn`t realise that there will be a second film based on the jeff wayne music made using cgi graphics with jeff waynes music and the original music will be released on SACD etc .cool

I agree, it had so much promise... I wanted to see huge great TripoRAB marching though Ye Olde Worlde England.. but as you say it's now Idependance Day 2.

Don't forget about the Pendragon Pictures version that is staying true to the book.

That's if it gets a release. I'm pretty sure that it was supposed to be out in May, but haven't heard much since.

Why do they always feel it necessary to Americanise stuff, do they feel that Americans won't understand it if its in another country?! Its stupid, it was set in the UK, keep it to the UK!!!
