Wanted: Forward controls suggestions.

I'm considering forward controls for my bike. I was hoping anyone who has already purchased them would offer there review on brand, installation, and performance. Also, where to purchase from would help. Any help would be appreciated.

Good products, but he does not have a C50 or M50. Those forwards won't fit his bike, and lowering bones don't work on a bike with a conventional swingarm like his S50.

If you can find a set, the Mapam-Restyling forward controls were reasonably priced and easy to install, but they were discontinued so it may take some digging to find a set. But they were not discontinued very long ago, so you might find someone wth a set still on the shelves, or maybe someone is selling some on EBAY.
Jardine makes some very nice forwards, but they are not cheap at about $675-700. The fit and finish is good, and they are not hard to install.
There are others, but those are the only two brands I have personal experience with on the VS800.

The lowering bones (often called dog bones) lower your bike by changing the angle of the rear softail style frame, like the one found on 85 and up Harley softail models and later copies from the Japanese, like the C50, C90, M50, and others. On bikes with a conventional swing arm, like a Harley Dyna or touring model, or Japanese bikes like the S50, S83, and Honda VTX line, you lower the rear by putting on shorter shocks.

The C50/ M50 semi-sisters have a different engine, frame, suspension- basically a different everything- from the S50. So forwards from one will not fit the other. Too bad- it would make things a lot easier if Suzuki parts interchanged from model to model more.
