Want your T|X to pop up date/time while off?

Just found this tip.

If your Palm T|X is turned off, and you press and hold the center button on the 5-way, your T|X will display the date and time. Release the center button, and your T|X will turn back off in a second or two.

Thought this was very handy, and haven't seen it mentioned in any manual.

Hope this helps someone.

(I previously had a hack that did this same thing, and loved it! Used it 4 or 5 times a day, when all I wanted was to see the time without having to turn on, then turn off my Palm)

Sorry to burst your bubble, but Palms have been able to do this for a while ;)

I was able to do this on my old Palm Zire. For all I know, they have probably been able to do this since before the Palm Zire as well.
 
You're not bursting any bubble, but for YOUR info, the LifeDrive, the most recent Palm released before the TX, didn't have this feature. So obviously, not EVERY Palm does this.

Also, I haven't purchased a new Palm for two years, and I'd assume many others may not have purchased a new Palm for some time.

Sorry if you're so up to date on every new Palm released that there's NO new info anyone can pass on to you, but maybe others might find this valuable.
 
it's acctually good advice.

People moving from the T|E will notice that you have to hold it down for a sec, the T|E is just one press and it'll come up.
