walleye fishing on shore?

What are the best ways to catch walleye on shore because i'm going to devils lake, ND during the summer and there's a lot of rocks on shore. please give me some techniques, lures, and colors so i could get ready
some people were catching walleye instantly but they wouldn't tell us what they were using
 
Walleye is a little difficult from the shore. The only thing i ever use for catching these things are minnows. I'll put them on a jig head and drop them vertically off my boat and jig them up and down off of the bottom. If i were you id use that same setup but of course you wont be able to jig them vertically off of the shore. You can throw your minnow out and let it go to the bottom and jig it very slowly back in. Although you will probably get a lot of bass doing this from the bank along with a catfish or 2.
