So i was walking home from a party with some friends and a Black car hit me about 4 blocks away from my house. i was walking east and the car was coming west. the driver was obviously intoxicated and not able to drive straight. i tried to get out of the way but couldn't and was hit front on. i was on the hood for a quick second then i fell off about 10 feet back with a broken fibula in my left leg unable to walk. none of us got the plate on the car and only know that it was a black car with a white driver that hit me they didn't stop they sped up and ran from the scene. I was just released from the hospital after having surgery with 8 pins and a plate put into my foot and will not be able to walk for 3 months. What do i do now? A police report was filed that night is there anything else i can do? i cant work for 3 months how can i make money to afford rent? how do i help make my mom feel better about the situation of being stuck with me for 3 months on her couch when i have my own place but unable to care for myself with only one leg?
fyi i live in east lansing michigan and i am 21 years of age
i work at a resturant as a manager and cant be crutching around work. The gm will not allow that.
I live in a college town with college roomates who love to drink if i stay there i will be be surrounded by bad influences and would rather be at my moms
I can tell they were under the influence of some drug by they way the drove and hit me and then sped of.
