What is considered "low carb?" How do they make "sugar free" yogurt
since milk contains sugars? Or do you mean "no added sugar?" And
what is a "calorie free" food?

If it really is calorie free, it's not food, it's wood maybe or plastic or
made out of matchbooks.

if i were a calorie counter i would probably count a serving of it as ten
calories... i know that reg is somewhere on some govt site but can't
remember where. Lee

I think aspartame has a nasty aftertaste. Sucralose is better but still has
an off taste to me. These things are getting better though. I still can't
shake the memory of saccharin... that taste makes me imagine spraying a can
of Raid in my mouth.

Usually I avoid artificial sweeteners like the plague so I confess to having
no idea what Asulfame K tastes like.

I tried them all and since I have to use one of them due to my
diabetes, I chose Stevia. Initially, I could taste a slight aftertaste
from it, but that passed within a week or so. Now it just tastes
exactly like sugar to me.

Splenda caused my blood sugar reading to sky-rocket EXACTLY like
sugar. So did all the others with the one exception of Stevia
products.

I thought I was doing just fine with Splenda, but had the usual blood
tests done and the Doc was very upset with me. He almost yelled at me.
"Are you not taking your readings at home?" he says....and I wasn't.

Now I take my reading once per/day and I've learned how to "feel" when
my count is high. I stopped eating anything but one meal a day and
found I was better stabilized then when doing the 5 small meals a day
thing they suggested. I eat a reasonable meal without many starches or
sugars and it seems to be working well for me.

Stevia allows me to enjoy the things that require sweetness. I love
the stuff.
