I tried the chocolate spread and for some reason it passed through me
extremely quickly. Some folks get that reaction to sugar alcohols but I
generally don't so I wonder if it was something else about it.
I had the pancake syrup. Watery but there's no really good way out of
that with a low carb syrup. It tasted fine. There didn't seem to be
much point to using on ice cream but I used it that way anyhow.
They aren't carb free for me either. I have decided that I will not
deduct grams of sugar alcohol from my carb count. There's no requirment
that anyone else follow my example but I suggest you think about the
financial motivations for making statements on labels and consider not
taking labels at face value. Try to decide independent of what it says
on labels. Diabetic groups suggest counting sugar alcohols at 50%. I'm
more conservative than that guideline.
