With the 2 options that you listed, looks like size is not an issue with you.
Both phones are good, but it just depends on what exactly you're looking for in a phone. The P990i uses Symbian UIQ for the OS, so you can download and install 3rd party programs. Other than that, you probably already know the features of both phones. So yeah, whatever choice you make would be a good one.
