w580i major problem!!

Okay so I have a w580i. Just today, I took it out of my pocket and I saw that my wallpaper is gone and been replaced by the color orange. Next I see "Searching" in the middle. I tried to turn the phone off but it wouldn't turn off because it was frozen. I took out the battery and then put it back in. The phone started up normally with all the animations and what not. Then I still see the orange background and i still see "Searching". Now it begins to turn off (like all the lights turn off) then it turns back on (back to the orange and searching) then couple seconds later it turns off again and etc. So now I'm completely lost on what to do.

I've tried to update (didn't work). I've tried taking out the sim card (didn't work). I've tried calling the Sony Ericsson line (didn't help).

Has anyone experienced this on their 580i phone and do you know how to fix it? Or should I just kiss my phone with all my pictures/videos goodbye? :( :sad:
 
It sounds like the phone has gone and corrupted itself. You might want to re-try phoning Sony Ericsson and see if you can have it sent to them for a repair or 're-flash'. :)
 
Or maybe bring it back to the dealer who you got the phone from and see if he can do it for you.

going to the manufacturer is always a pain doing it alone.
 
:flamemad: The sony ericsson w580i's....STINK!

I kinda have the same problem as the guy who's is messing up.

8 of my buttons are cracked, sometimes my background disappears, and it FREEZES alot.

I hate this phone sooo much!

DO NOT EVER BUY THIS PHONE!!!
 
If you're looking for similar features, minus the cracking, get the 810i, not as stylish, but durable!
