I just got my W580i a few days ago and noticed that after talking on it for about 2 hours and listening to music (through speaker) for ONLY 10 MINS the battery almost dies... (10%)

Is that normal? or is there something wrong with it....?

Also how much should I expect the battery to live? (that is if my phone's battery doesn't work properly)

Thanks

Pretty normal from what I have seen. My daughter has the w580i and does not get the run time out of it that I think she should.

But then again we have had in back to Sony 4 times and replaced 1 time for being a piece of junk.

Main board failures, locking up, display inverting and of course keys cracking. Now it locked up again last night. Ugh.

Haha... ye that's true. I actually saw billions of complaints about w580i in the internet. One of the solutions is to turn of the "step meter" as it uses a load of battery power. In fact, I have managed to increase the battery life to about 4 days now...

I can still go and change it, as I have 2 more weeks for any exchange; but the reason I'm not doing it is because I really love the phone. It's gotten its spot in my heart... lol

I like the concept and interface. I still like the design and functions. But I think after dealing with Sony I would be hard pressed to get anything else "Sony".

I am glad you were able to get more time out of that battery. My Razor has been ok with the battery life, but the wife's has had battery issues several times. :(

They all have their issues unfortunately , but that's what keeps things interesting. :smart:

lolz @ :smart:

I think Nokia's are far better than any other phone if you're really looking for battery life and sound quality. I used to use Nokia 3310 and then 6600 I liked them both but then they got old and I decided to use a bit more technology and that when I had to face SonyErricson w580i... muahahah

anyways, good luck with your razer and may God protect its battery as long as the phone remains workin'.

The W580i is a really good phone in the number of features it has much like the newer phones. Turning some of the automatic features off would help a lot in conserving battery life. I find the step count useless even though it's a nice little quark the phone has.
