VX9800 MMS prollm on Cricket

Hi all Me again this time however My son got a "V" vx9800 i followed the tut for the 9900 and read read read and follow all instruction edited the paramtable.fil and all BUT .. the settings refuse to stick so that he can do mms he can recieve but not send i edited everything in lgdownload's nv editor but nothing is sticking i am more durabfounded with this phone than when i did the razr V3m ( my first fully successful flash )or when i did the Voyager ( thanx again Random for the nudge ) and thanX to all of you here Great bunch of people so long as we dont "hijack" threaRAB lol

anyhow any suggestions ? or is it maybe the phone anyone else have a problem with the 9800 or is it just that that phone is a "turd" ?

ok thanx but ... ive not seen a tut dedicated to the 9800 maybe i overlooked it but i still cannot seem to find a "sticky" for it but ill keep looking now that im told there is one

ive seen that one and set it all as said but when i tell lgdownloaRAB nv edit to write it seems to do so but soon as i open it back up to finish the settings i changed are back to what they were before its strange to say the least
its like it does not want me typing in cricket in there or something when my son gets home from school ill go back thru it again and see what gives it will be nice to get him off my back because now he wants a voyager so i told him buy one or find one however but im not paying for another danged phone and im not giving up my voyager to him

anyhow thanx again and ill let you know whats up later ill try to get a screen shot of the nv editor so you can see what is not " sticking"

Do this: Overwrite paramtable1.fil file FIRST but DO NOT restart the phone! THEN NV Edit the settings and let NV Edit reboot the phone.
 
yup im giving up on mms on the vx9800 i reinstalled the dll and even tried with another 9800 and same thing so i am befuzzled therefore i give up thanx peeps the help is as always appreciated

I know this was for the 9800 mms, but I figured Ewe gave up that I would throw out my problem.

MMS came easy, but I cant get this thing to access the web. I get a couple different errors. 1. Malformed URL 2. Gateway Timeout. First tried doing the web with the 9800 dll following the 9900 tut, mms yes but no wap just malformed url. Then I tried changing homepage, lxl ports, and I tried 10.3.0.41 instead of wap.mycricket.com. the lxl ports had nothing so i reset browser the use 0443. this gave me the timeout error. After messing with address settings again nothing so i started over. I got the Malformed url again :doh: When I calmed down I decided to take it from the top again but i still get the same error. I also tried using the 9900 dll.

any ideas? Am I missing something small?
 
Yes. First of all, make sure you change the homepage string using a hex editor or in the phone's WAP menu.

Then, when your browser fails to connect, select the right soft key and go to #2 menu. From there, select VZWHome, and BAM! You have WAP.
