vx 6700 with wm6 ?

Hello I have a vx 6700 flashed to cricket thanks too you guys . I see there is a update "Custom Apache WM6 Kitchen CE OS 5.2.1908" can I use this for my phone I have been searching and I hear people talking about bricking there phones . So I like to get some input before I do some thing stupid . Im new to all this stuff .
