i took out a phone contract with vodafone in 2007... 18 months later when the contract had reached its full period I upgraded with Vodafone and took out another 18 month contract with a new phone. My bills were rather high (double each month) so i called the customer service team to ask to have an itemised bill sent to my home address and for them to check everythings okay. Apparently so. Now my second 18 month contract is up and it turns out the previous contract has still been running all this time... hense the high bills. I cancelled my direct debit for Vodafone and now have a final bill for over £100 for the last six weeks (when i havnt even used the phone for well over two months now)... i called the customer services team to complain about the other contract being kept running without me knowing (surely they would have seen it was not being used at all and written to me about it at least?!) especially after speaking with them several times about the high bills nobody ever thought to mention it to me.... i asked if the final bill could be waiverd as ive paid an extra £600 at least over the last 18 months for something ive not used but they said no i must pay it and i would also get a bill for next month too as they need to receive a written conformation advising i want to cancel and give 30 days notice!
Obviously im going to just pay as i dont want a bad credit history or anything but does anyone think it might b worth following up about the first contract being kept running and do you think i may get any of that money back?!! even a small amount!?!
sorry its long!! many thanks xx
