In HS I was involved in choir, musical theater, Sweet Adelines, and anything else I could lend my voice to, but ever since I graduated (about two years ago) I haven't been doing any of that because I moved, and I have no idea how to get involved in anything musical. I used to be a really good singer, but now my voice is really weak and just sounds horrible. I know its still in there, but I don't know what I can do to strengthen my voice.
I also have a job where I am talking to people all day as well as a low voice (I am trying to get in the habit of talking higher) and I think I have vocal damage! When I sing or talk, I can hear it.
I really need help getting my voice back - I just want to be able to sing well again. But I need your help. I'm not looking for a quick fix, I know I need to work to get to where I was.
What are some vocal exercises I can do every day to help?
Also, where should I look to get a foot in in the community music scene here?
