VLC Media player in Win7 ?

How do i get VLC to play a dvd as soon as i insert in the drive , i have changed the default auto-play and still it only lets me play it through Windows media player , it lets me choose a cd between VLC and win media player but not dvd , any ideas as i dont like the win media player
