I just moved into a new apartment, and am looking for a TV for around $600, at least 42". I've narrowed it down to the 2 TV's in the title, but am open to suggestions. I found great deals online for both (Vizio $590, Samsung $614).
My hesitation is, I don't know whether to go with a likely higher quality plasma TV in the Samsung, even though it is only 720p, but obviously withe 600hz refresh rate. Or instead, if I should go with what seems like a really solid TV in the 1080p 120hz Vizio. I naturally would prefer the combo of a 1080p plasma, but just don't have the money to go up to that.
It should be noted that the TV will go in my living room mounted above a fireplace, probably a good 8 or so feet from where viewers will be sitting.
