Case Close..Awsome..But does that mean the GNS will have a big S on the top instead of a V, or is this a new magazine featruring these mangas?

And anime, does that mean Viz is gonna be working with Hayate & CC From Now on Instead of Bandai & Funi, or just try to get distribution rights?

So many questions can't wait til SDCC!

This is a giant giant stretch, but I hope one of the licenses will be Katte Ni Kaizo.

In a less far stretch, I hope they gt Hajimete no Aku, Defense Devil, MAR Omega, Kenichi, and Mixim.

Where's River26, because I know he's a big SS fan. Also this is good for Shogakukan and Shonen Sunday, because they've been really unrepresented by Viz for the last 3 years or so.

Question 1: Most likely yes. The first editions of future volumes and future editions of current volumes will probably carry the Shonen Sunday banner. Same situation with Viz's publication of Black Lagoon; the first five volumes all had the V logo, but Vol.6, the first under the Signature line, sports the new "SIG" logo (you can see it in Vol.3 of 20th Century Boys and Vol.1 of Detroit Metal City).

Question 2: 110% No. Most likely future volumes of non-Viz produced Shonen Sunday titles will sport the Shonen Sunday logo, just like how One Piece - a Funimation title - also carries the Shonen Jump name and typesetting in its logo.

Wow. Viz is going go all-out on online manga. First IKKI and now Shonen Sunday. This is good as we can see more titles. And maybe, if these two online imprints succeed, we may see Shojo Beat be revived as an online-only title and Shonen Jump expand into producing online titles. Heck, it would be cool to actually get Claymore chapters every month legally and online instead of waiting over half a year for the next volume.

Hopefully I hope they don't. Got sick and tired of those sugary, fantasy; "shojo titles".

But, this' a nice direction for VIZ. Finally looking to publish titles under the Sunday label.

The logo looks stupid, but hey, more Yuu Watase =

Seconded. I wouldn't have minded if they even had to raise the subscription price to keep the magazine around.

Hey. Bad. The ones I read were not as sugary as everyone thinks.

Again, Im glad to see viz give Case closed & Inuyasha somemore love, and would deffinantly not be opposed to a shoenen Sunday magazine, be it online or a physical copy.

as for the debate about shojo beat, when it comes down to it alot of the shojo titles just don't sale as welll as shonen manga does in the U.S. sure you have your exceptions like Vampire knight or Host Club, but for the most part its the various shonen series that bring in the dough, so you can't really blame viz for cutting the cord on SB.

But BOT: Ya for shonen Sunday! May your US Imprint Prosper!!!!

Hopefully through this we may see a anime rendition of Yakitate!! Japan. Which Funimation may get which like OP that they stamp Shonen Sunday above the YJ title.

Or that MAJOR will finally see the light of day. Dispite it being a very long series.

Yeah, you're right Naruto D. In fact, I'd rather ditch that stupid label; Shojo Beat in favor of Shonen Sunday.

Titles like;
MAJOR
Yakitate!! Japan
KenIchi: The Mightest Disciple, y'name it .

It is only a matter of time till all manga fall before the might of SHONEN SUNDAY! MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

BOT: So is shonen Sunday gonna get a Magazine or is it just going to be like sig & IkkI. Cause I would love a magazine featuring Case Closed, Inuyasha & Rin-E on a monthly basis!

(Hopefully this will also improve CC's Popularity in the US!)

lol True. But I'm a shonen type reader. I'd rather steer clear of those cheesy and corny shojo manga. Hence the reason why I ditched Ouran. When I figured it had a hint of yaoi in it. Due to the Hitachin twins. I'd rather read SJ or Viz's new label; Shonen Sunday.

74 volumes unfortunately.

Story's about a kid who had a tragic past that he grows up and eventually becomes a pitcher for the teams that he's on. His name's Goro Honda. Now in today's manga world of MAJOR, hw's now known as Goro Shigeno.

His mom, which used to be his former Elementary school teacher now becomes his present mom. Which she marries Goro's dad's friend; Hideki Shigeno. Former player of Blue Oceans. Becomes Goro's new dad.

Case Closed is published in Weekly Shonen Magazine alongside the likes of Fairy Tail, I thought.

Shonen Sunday to me is like a effiminate Shonen Jump with more emphasis on drama and romance than action and adventure. That doesn't make their titles bad, though. In fact, I've found on average that I kinda prefer Sunday titles over Jump, so it's nice that the titles are getting the Sunday label slapped on them and getting a big push from Viz. Let's hope they don't abandon it.

It's a longshot,I know, since among other reasons, it's an older title, but I'm kinda hoping they'll rerelease Urusei Yatsura (the only major Rumiko Takahashi series I've never read),or at least her "Rumic Theater" one-shot collections.... I'm a big Rumiko Takahashi fan...
...other than Takahashi's works,I'm not really familiar with Shonen Sunday, but I'll definately look into the titles they're releasing...
