Vivienne Tam HP Net book?

I am planning to buy a Vivienne Tam HP Netbook, however I am stil not sure if it is quite for the needs I want. I want a lap top just for going online, IMing (Through MSN or AIM), also school essays or powerpoints. I'm a teenage girl, I believe it will fit my lfestyle how ever i just want to make sure before i buy it, since it is soooooo pricey.
