There was a website on the internet (www.thecureforheartdisease.com) by a Phd (from the Vitamin C Foundation if I remember correctly) I read a while back that told about a Canadian doctor who had a theory (proved by Linus Pauling, Dr. Rath) that artery disease (cracked, inflamed, leaky linings) is a vitamin C deficiency. With insufficient vitamin C the body produces more bad cholesterol to fill in the cracks. A part of the bad cholesterol is real sticky (lipo-protein A) and minerals (calcium, etc.) stick to it and form plaque deposits in the arteries where the arteries are damaged. If you take adequate C (4 grams or more) the cracked linings become smooth and not leaky but plaques may remain. Dr. Rath,if I remember correctly, discovered that if you take approximately equal amounts of L-lysine with the vitamin C it would break down and eliminate the plaques. L-proline another amino acid was also found to work for this as well. If it is true that these may eliminate plaque from arteries may it work in removing plaques (calcium deposits) in Peyronies as well? Also if there is inflammation involved with Peyronies I have heard that fish oil is one of the best natural anti-inflammatories and may help. I have also heard that the body uses vitamin C to form collagen used in all tissue repair and that without enough vitamin C proper collagen and healing may be affected. Any thoughts on this?
