Vitamin A for acne?

I was wondering if taking vitamin A pills would have a similar affect to taking accutane? I currently don't have health insurance so I can't get on accutane but before I lost my insurance I tried pretty much everything else from a dermatologist. I know there are side effects and stuff so my plan is to just take like 30,000ui which is suppose to be a safe amount and see how that works.

Accutane is cis-retinoic acid, two metabolic steps from Vitamin A

To get any effect in acne, you need to take several hundered thousand units per day (20 or 30 10000iu capsules)

Doxycycline has been shown to reduce acne to a significant degree, and is dirt cheap (you can get sixty capsules, a two month supply, for $10 at Walmart)

Corabine that with the generic Benzoyl Peroxide at night and salacylic acid (Nutrogena Pore clearing astringent) in the morning and you're on a winner
