I was browsing cracked.com or some website like that. Well it was a website with occasional pop-ups, and somehow I got infected with the Rouge Virus. It claimed that my computer had like 30 viruses. It looked like the layout of my Windows defender so at first I thought it was the real thing. But I researched and found out it was a fraud. I was waiting for my cpu to be fixed so for a week I just sucked up. Every time I opened up my internet browser which is Mozilla FireFox, that Rouge Virus would pop up and "scan", but about a week later from the date of infection, it just disappeared. There used to be the Windows Defender Icon at the bottom right of my screen with all my other icons, but that disappeared too. I suspect that was the actual rouge virus. When I press Control-Alt-Delete to access Task Manager, and view the "Processes" tab there used to be the program "ave.exe" running which is the virus but it is not there anymore. Is it laying dormant and trying to trick me or did it like actually disappear? What should I do.
Vista Rogue Virus pop ups just disappeared out of no where!!?
