Someone removed the power cable and my laptop shut down immediately-no battery- .
I turned it on and when the windows started everything was different.. my files on the desktop weren't there.. all disabled visual effects were enabled, some programs are missing such as google chrome, utorrent fraps and KMplayer, just like when making a new user account or to restore system to a very early point.
And I'm pretty sure that no one changed anything on my laptop.
I don't know what exactly happened .. but it's not the first time. It happened to me many times for no specific reasons and the solution was simply restoring system.
but the problem in my case now is that there are no restore points which i think they were deleted by TuneUp Utilities.. also I noticed that my system is running smother and faster than last time I worked on it, and so did the 3d games !
my desktop missing files I found them in the desktop folder in my user account directory and no missing files at all in the other partitions, just in the Vista(C) Partition.
I'm asking, why did that happened, what's the problem, and is there any way to solve this problem ?? Or I have to deal with my new situation ??
I posted the same topic at vistaforums but there are no answers , so I'm waiting for your responses or would anyone lead me to a useful forum?
