so the only support linksys has for vista is for 32 bit versions so as of now I am shit out of luck for my wireless network adapter on my desktop. fucking linksys is weak as fuck. to everyone out there building a computer intending to run vista 64 bit, make sure you have support for all your hardware on 64 bit before purchasing...

yeah, but i was building a new system and I don't have any legit copies of any OS. figured this was the time to buy one and 64 bit is better than 32 so i did...

Linksys are choads about driver support. It took me 6 hours to find drivers for Win XP 64 on my wireless card, because Linksys doesn't support it officially. I had to go find the chipset manufacturer's web site and download drivers from there. Fuck Linksys.

Except it really really isn't, as I keep trying to tell people, but THEY WON'T FUCKING LISTEN.

Driver issues and no support for 16-bit in exchange for running 64-bit apps you don't have faster and supporting more than 4GB of memory which is more than you can physically install unless you spent $350 apiece for 2GB memory modules.

Although i did buy the OEM version since i am a cheapass and figured i wouldnt need the full version i dont have that option. I might sell this current version and buy the 32 bit though because this is proving to be more and more of a hassle with almost everything I have tried to install. other than the lack of hardware support though vista is amazing inside and out...

64bit HAS to have signed drivers. It has been said over and over. If you want to use the 64 bit version make sure you have and are planning to use signed drivers.

Actually, you can turn that off from the command line:

bcdedit -set loadoptions DDISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS

This is different from the pre-RC2 command which no longer works.

edit: no typo, the command really is DDISABLE_...

I went out and bought 32 bit. It was much less of a hassle loading hardware and software.

anyone want a copy of 64 bit vista home premium? I never activated the key since i didnt have any drivers.
