Virus that prevents Windows from finding hardware used for the internet and all

removable media? I'm working on someone's PC and apparently after looking in the device manager Windows says it has the drivers, but cannot detect the hardware for the wireless adapter, cd-drive, USB ports, and Ethernet adapter. Also the screen is running in a windowed-like mode, the display is only using about 75% of the screen, as in it's black about and 1.5" all around the screen. I booted the PC using UBCD and it can use the USB, Wireless, CD-Drive and the like with no problems so I know it's not any internal damage or loss of physical connections. I'm going to back up her photos and documents to an external hard drive and re-install Windows, but I was just curious if this is a virus or just Windows acting up.
 
if its an hd monitor, thats the screen problem, i have one and it does the same. Most likley just devices disabled, look in control panel.
