Virus on USB flash drive. How to remove?

well I have a virus on my USB flash. I plugged it into my computer and it immediately spotted It and removed the virus from my computer. But I think it's still on the USB. I deleted all my files(didn't need them) and figured the virus is gone..Is the virus still there? Did my computer remove it or Is it because of me deleting all the files
