Virgin Mobile - "You are within range of a Sprint private network"?

I have had my Virgin Mobile Kyocera X-TC since October 2009. Lately when I attempt to make a call inside my house I get this message: "You are within range of a Sprint private network. Please move outside of the private network before placing a call." I can no longer make or receive calls or text messages when I am home. Called VM customer service a dozen times and a dozen times they give me a ticket number to troubleshoot my cell. /this problem started about two months ago. Any ideas why am I receiving this error message now?
