The microSD (4gig) that worked perfectly fine on the Shuttle, i.e., displayed the saved songs, won't work on the Kyocera X-tc.
1. I save all mp3's on the microSD on the "My Music" directory.
2. I put the memory card into the phone.
3. I turn on the Kyocera X-tc.
4. "Info: Reading card"
5. "Info: Card ready to use"
6. I see the minidisc icon on the lower right corner.
(i.e., I did all the steps properly and the Kyocera seems to recognize this memory card as valid.)
7. I go to Media Player.
8. I quickly see "Songs Loaded" before I get to the Media Player menu.
9. I go to "My Music."
10. I go to "All Songs."
11. "Empty."
12. I click on "Refresh" to "Update Music Library."
13. Still "Empty."
14. I look on the other folders.
15. Still "Empty."
"Okay," I say, "Maybe I need to format the memory card to the Kyocera K-tc, and then maybe it will work." So, I go through these steps to keep all bases covered:
- Tools And Settings
- [10] Accessories
- [5] Memory Card
- [2] Format Card
And I re-save the mp3 files all over again.
And the Kyocera X-tc recognizes there's a memory card in the phone and that there are songs saved on the miniSD it sees as valid, but yet, it's still "Empty."
Is there a Virgin Mobile expert here who can shed some light on this?
EDIT to add: The minidisc icon is in the *upper* right corner.
