Virgin Media V+ box recordings?

I would like to copy some of my recordings to DVD but I don't have a DVD recorder.

I know I could get them onto DVD via my laptop, but that's only if there is a way to get them onto my laptop. I could do that with a cable maybe?

Can anyone tell me the easiest and cheapest way to get recordings off my V+ box and onto a DVD?
