Virgin media PC guard internet security (UK) question?

I have Virgin media broadband and also use their internet security "PC GUARD"

I have a question,

When using Windows messenger web cam i cannot get the person calling me to load if the firewall is "ON" on the pc guard security.

Take off the firewall setting and MS messenger will load ok.

I have PC guard setup to allow MS messenger but it will not why?
