The demand for slaves which was fueled by Americans/Europeans saw the murder of millions of people. More people than died in the Holocaust, easily.

Hell the depopulation campaign that occured in the Americas was far worse in terms of scale than anything seen elsewhere in modern history. We are talking about over 90 million people in addition to the Atlantic Slave Trade, most of whom probably died from disease yes, but who none the less were still physically slaughtered and used as slaves as well.
