Video Camera, All Avi Files In All Media Players Black Screen But sound?

I am getting crazy. I have THE NEWEST DISPLAY DRIVERS ALL THE PLUGINS K-LITE...... DIVX but all of my Mediplayers: VLC, WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER SHOW ONLY A BLACK PICTURE WITH SOUND THIS IS IN ALL PLAYERS FOR ALL .AVI FILES. I have all the plugins and codecs installed 100% sure. Display drivers are also uptodate. It all started when I installed Sony Software for my record player. PLEASE HELP
