I mainly focused on the changing nature of Liberalism at the time - everything from what Liberalism stood for, Gladstone's leadership, policies and resignation + remergence and changed viewpoints, to programmatic approach of J. Chamberlain and his work with Conservatives & Salisbury. Do any of these areas apply to this question?
