Vibration in floorboards

I realize Harleys shake at idle, we test rode a couple of new ones and I thought they would shake apart before I got moving, but they didn't have the same vib in the boards.
FloridaFLHX said something about a crankshaft bearing going out. Does that sound right?
It only has 16,000 miles on it.

I have a 1999 Road Glide that vibrated real bad at cruising rpms, so I was told to replace the front motor mount. But I was told to use red locktite & not to torque the center bolt to more than 10 ft lbs. Is that right. Vibration in the floor boards is gone but it vibrates a little more just off idle then smooths out is that right or should I torque the center motor mount bolt to mre than 10 ft lbs?

Check the exhaust and make sure it is bolted correctly, that is a very common reason for vibration. Also check the rubber exhault mounts under the bags, sometimes the metal brakets are touching metal to metal because they slip-ons were installed too for forward or back. While some here say it is common for a Harley, the only time I have ever felt vibration on the footboards is when something wasn't right.

I just purchased a glide pro front mount and they say 12 foot pounds for the center bolt. I installed it today and at idle it is a little better but I still get the same vibration in my highway pegs and floor boards.

It's a 2008 ultra and no the exhaust is not hiting or rubbing anywhere.

$108.00 for the mount, delevered, I don't beleive it was worth it.

I believe the reference was to a rear wheel bearing going out.

NOT THE ENGINE MAIN.
Mine vibrates to at certain engine speeds, usually low rpm's

I wonder if theirs a factory service bulletin out on it!

Are you sure it's 12lbs.? I just installed mine and it says 16lbs. It was hand written as the original torque spec had been crossed out. I'm very happy with mine. My motor no longer looks like it's going to jump out onto the pavement at idle. Previously my mirrors were blurry at certain rpm's and no longer are. It was worth it to me.
