vetronix tech 2 made by GM?

will the GM tech 2 work on all cars that have obd 2. if so what setting must it be in how do i get the tech 2 to talk to my car. I have an acura cl type s and i need to pull a code the tech 2 lights up and works fine but when i go to dtc it says it can not comunicate with the car please help
