The 1 year warranty is still good and they would replace the phone but the problem is that the trackball was lost. I would suggest looking online for a cheap replacement trackball to ship back to them.
Thats why i left voice stream(t-mobile)10yrs ago it sounds like cs still did not improve any,wow they should be better by now?hang in there because you can get a trackball on ebay for $13 total with shipping i bought like 4 of them.I have 10 BB you need replacement parts with my teenagers having blackberries.
In my opinion that is a weak excuse. It is lost because it fell out. It fell out because of a manufacturing defect with is clearly covered in the 1 year warranty (available on line on RIM's website). I would politely but firmly press that issue. I bet you get a replacement.
Buy the second hand track ball, cancel tmobile, sell your berry+save 100 dollars on the deduct....after that come over to sprint ;-). I just had to do something similar, in the end the only money I really "lost" wa when I bought new equipment.
Eh, sometimes things just don't work your way. It's just something you have to deal with when you are with any company. Just get the trackball and send it to them with it.Also, anyone should know too that you always have to call customer service back when dealing with any company, they rarely call people back that I've seen so that was wishful thinking on your part for trusting them hehehe..well in my opinion.
The one thing I would point out is that you are actually dealing with 2 companies here; Tmobile and the insurance company.
I had a friend that had to deal with insurance at tmo and they had lots of problems with it. Her phone dropped in water and she was able to use it for about a week until it completely died. She mentioned that the incident happened over a week from the time she called and they didn't want to honor the insurance claim. It took many phone calls and many 'supervisors' with the insurance company to get this straightend out.
I am not that happy with my service right now either. 36 hours and no web or IM capabilities, fluctuating between the entire spectrum of signal indicators except No Service or SMS. I have to keep turning the wireless connections (WiFi and Mobile Network) off and back on to even get a PIN or text. I can make and receive voice calls, emails and SMS texts, however. Everything was fine until Memorial Day at around 3:30 PM when I noticed I wasn't getting any messages. I even stuck all of my SIM cards in both the 8120 and my 8100. No avail.
All I have been told by 2 reps is that they are aware of the issue (I was told it was a Houston area market problem) and are working on a solution. I have done numerous resets and wiped the phone yesterday. I love T-Mobile and have been with them for 5 years next month but this is RIDICULOUS that they can't even tell me when my service will work right.
That also happened too me a long time ago, nothing worked, then one rep said just for the hell of it go replace ur sim card and see what happened, guess what that FIXED it
Same thing, they told me to replace my sim, and it fixed it as well. But on Monday, I wasn't getting a tiny lag in my messages, but it seems to be working just fine now
I have already replaced the SIM card. I was finally (after 30 plus hours) able to log back into all messengers. The only thing I can't do is browse the web.
~via BB (wap.rabroad.com)~ as far as the warranty tmobile cannot replace anything that is physical damage unless it is made a known issue from rim if you send it in you will get a 100 oow fee which is only 10 bucks cheaper thab insurance ask for blackberry reapirs phone number from tmobile if you let them know of the issue rim may give the thumbs up that it is a know issue
And as far as insurance..... Its insurance just like health or car insurance you pay a premium and if something happens you pay a deductable plain and simple
Well to answer a few questions. 1- what's the point of insurance if you have to paty for it? Well irs the same thing with car insurance. You pay a monthly fee and If something happens you pay a deductible. Same thing with the insurance from asurion
2- we have certain policies that we have to go by. If RIM tells us we can't do it. Then we can't do it unfortunately
3-you can go on ebay or there are probably a few other sites that just sell trackballs and the casings for them to get it fixed. You'll send a heck of a lot less money going this route.
