Ok, I have a very hard physics question that Ive tried EVERRRRYYYYYTHINGGGG on and my brain is going to implode, Ready? here it is.... A pendulum is constructed of a 6.7 gram mass suspended on a 55cm thread. the mass is displaced vertically 55 cm to a point exctly horizontal from the top of the thread and released. The mass swings down and is cut directly above the mass when the mass is 120 cm above the floor. the mass is released from the sting and lands on the floor in front of the pendulum. Identify the position the object.

I need to

Display HOW to find the solution to this problem step by step mathematically using the concepts and equations necessary

Decribe WHY your solution is correct by relating each equation used to the appropriate concepts above in sequential order.

And as accurately as possible to the correct number of significant figures identify the position the object will land in meters from the point exact below the point where the string is cut.

Ive tried everything, so try to solve this. It will help me a great deal.

I also drew a, what i believe to be, pretty picture :)

It can be found here: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=701504&l=cc60b41eb5&id=1832238417

Thank you :)

PS: please tell me how sure you are of your answerer, I am going to check over everything but it would be nice to know if I am heading the right way.
