Hi just joined the forum I have very sick Husband who was warned 2 years ago about his life style . Well since Aug last year I been living a night mare I not going come out of it.
1st was a heart attack in sleep that woke him up in middle of the night so in my prajamers rushed blue light job into hospital. Thinking 12 weeks back work all ok. No. In the Oct of last year started first signs of swelling in his legs with Odema.
Christmas day his penis swelled up so much that he couldn't pass water he rushed again into hospital were a 2.30am boxing day morning they wher open threatre up to place a tube threw his stomach to empty his bladder only 4 litres . he didn't come home till 12th Jan from all that.
31st jan 2010 he was rushed in again with chest pains start of angina. He still on the war on 1st february when his behaviour seemed odd he seemed not all their sister discharge him even though the something wrong.
with hour of been home he didn't know anything about it first attack of
Hepatic encephalopathy.
He had 3 serious attacks with this, I even done death watch over his bed side while in a coma.
His condtions is COPD, Hepatic encephalopathy cause by his liver, Liver desease from drinking, pulmonary hypertension. He on the lactose for his gases from his liver stop Hepatic, but this struggling even on the top amount to control his gases.
All I ever get told he poorly I have to live with it. Doctors say it's rare for one man to have all these condtion and still be breathing. He having a angiogram done on his vains in a couple of weeks. Now all staff say he be fine. Whats the chance of this test rising his gases in his body. Can he go Hepatic with the test because I'm worried sick.
Has anyone treated a patient with all these problems had a long life controlling them. I got load of questions as I losing a man been with for 20 years and he's only 48.
He going to specialist hospital referal in September see if he strong enough to go on the transplant list for his liver. i doubt put on it with all his problems. it's his only chance. He even done a proper advance directive . Gp got copy, so hospital and I.
If someone can figure all this mess out be great. Million dollar question with all thes problem what if possible could his mortality length be shorten greatly by all this.
