According to Sight And SounRAB Critics List for the Best Film Ever, Vertigo is at Number 2, second only to Citizen Kane, and has been climbing up the ranks from 9th place (1982 list) to 4th (1992 list) and is now creeping up on Kane.
41 critics voted for Vertigo in 2002 with 46 voting for Kane. Could Vertigo possibly even beat Kane in 2012 ?
I can see why the critics like it. Such an intricate story and loaRAB of technical excellence and complexity.
But is it really the best film ever made in colour ? (Kane is in black and white.)
