Okay, so I've never had a smart phone before. I've always stuck to the regulars. But now, I'm looking into Verizon's XV6800 and I'm wondering, it's not like a blackberry is it? I mean as far as the plan goes.. You don't have to buy a data package do you?

Well, I already have an unlimited data plan for internet on the phone I have now. Is that the same? Will it still work? Or do I have to add something more?

Since you stated you have never had a Smartphone before, you most likely have an advanced V CAST device. These devices are able to have a data plan of $15 on there.

The Smartphone devices have their own data plan which is $29.99, which would be an increase of about $15 per month for you. The data plan you have now is not the same as the data plan for the XV6800.

The plan you have now is it the Connect or the Premium plan or just the Vcast vpak feature??

I ask because the $29.99 smartphone data plan only gives you the capability to surf the web and send email (Like the connect plan). It does not include everything that comes with the V-cast vpak data feature or the Premium plan.

Yes I have the Vcast Vpak.. but I only use it for the internet.. and for my email I just type in gmail.com.. I don't go through the whole Email button. What other features am I missing out on with Vcast.. so is there any difference between the data plan and what I have now?

You will not have to buy the data plan for the 6800 you can have the messaging plan and you can select pay per a MB or select the 29.99 rate plan.
only phones that came out after Nov 14 2008 have to have the DATA Plan..

For the $15 a month package (other then internet) you get the following V CAST Basic Video, ESPN MVP and for $25 a month you also get V CAST Mobile TV.

You get none of these with the $29.99 smartphone data plan.
