Verizon Wireless Prepaid Phones?

Can I buy any Verizon Wireless phone without a contract and set it up for a prepaid plan? (WITH NO DATA PLAN) But definitely a 10$ messaging bundle. So could I buy for example, an iPhone or LG Ally and set it up for prepaid? Or even older phones such as the enV 3 or enV touch? Thank you!!!
