Verizon Wireless phone bill?

I recently had a huge phone bill from verizon wireless for data charges. The thing is I did not sign up for internet and it charged me usage for searching the web on Bing. It said when I downloaded the app that it was a free-unlimited. So I used it and now my phone bill went way up. I was wondering if I should take this up with them or if anyone else has expierienced this.

I've had verizon for a number of years, and i have found that they are kind of sneaky. The thing is that the app was free, but getting on the internet to use the app is not.. See tricky huh? I doubt there is anything you can do about it.

First... Verizon doesn't offer contracts without a data plan, so you might want to take a second look at what you signed. I don't think you're paying for what you think you're paying for. If you don't sign up for a specific plan, you get the pay-per-use plan by default.

Second... just because the app itself is free doesn't mean that the data it uses is free as well. The app doesn't have any control over your data charges. So even if you're not paying for the app, data charges still apply if it accesses the internet.

Third... if you believed you didn't have a data plan, why did you download an app that requires access to the internet? o.0
