So my friend decided to switch from VW service to AT&T because it ended up being 50 bucks cheaper. I buy his LG Dare from him because he switched services and my phone was slowly turning into a piece of junk. Here's the problem. VW won't let me use his phone. Two weeks ago I tried activating it with no success. I call them up and they say I can't use his phone, he still has a bill to pay.
That doesn't sound right to me. You see he had a two year contract with another phone and couldn't wait the two years and ended up getting the LG Dare in January at full price. It's not linked to the contract, so why am I penalized for it? Why are they saying because he owes money on his two year contract, even though it doesn't relate to the Dare, that I can't use it? That was two weeks ago. He assumes that the AT&T service canceled his VW service, because they ported his VW number to his AT&T. So we go to VW center today and he pays what he thinks is a canceling bill. Soon after that he realizes he paid for another month of service although he has no number to use. He calls to cancel and his account is surely canceled. He just has to follow up with the cancelation fee in a few days. Again I try to activate the Dare as my phone and again it doesn't work, it says another account is using the phone. So I take my old motorola VW phone and try and activate it with his VW number as a way to take it off the Dare. It still doesn't work, telling me the number doesn't exist. So I'm stuck in a limbo. I can't work either end out. Can someone help me PLEASE?
