Verizon Wireless Internet, please help me?

I am wondering. My Verizon wireless internet is saying I have a 5GB deal a month? Does this mean I can only use 5GB monthly of my internet or what?

I have a PS3 and I was wondering, if I connect will it use this 5GB deal, because I don't want to exceed the limits if this is so.
