Verizon wireless cell phone help!?

i still have a year left on my 2 year contract, and i hate my enV2.

i want to buy a new phone.

if i buy one online, can i get everything transfered to the new phone if my phone is still in contract? or do i have to wait until my phone is out of contract, and then buy it?
is there anyway to do this without entering a new contract?
