Verizon Wireless-A bit disappointing now...

I recently went to the developer website to see what was going on.

Whenever Verizon advertises their developer campaign...it sounds really cool and makes it seem like they're opening their devices to an entire different world...NOT!

Yes, Verizon Wireless is gathering developers to make the devices more "app friendly". But, what does this mean? It actually means your phone will have many more apps on them...BUT you'll still be forced to use BREW and you'll still be forced to purchase those apps at ridiculously high prices...

Also, Verizon Wireless hasn't opened up their newest devices (like the enV Touch or enV3) up for testing yet! So it may be a long long wait before you see these nice apps on those phones!

Finally, if you have $1,500 laying around somewhere, you can create your own BREW apps!

Development Center - BREW

Unless of course you have a Blackerry...you might be liking life then!

Verizon has always been stingy with opening up anything on their phones. I think part of their business model is making people realize that since the network is good, it's okay to have a limited set of features that you have to pay a little more for.
