Verizon Westell VersaLink 7500 PSN Connection?

After much deliberation, I finally got the Ps3 allow me to connect to the playstation network. The ps3 would connect to the internet, but could not establish a connection to PSN. I fixed this by setting the internet security to low. Is there any way that I can raise the security level and still have the ps3 connect to playstation network? Thanks
