verizon v3m will not activate

I feel like a retard. Ive never had a problem flashing or programming a phone but this will not work.

I moved from phoenix to houston which both have cricket service and lost my xv6700 on the way there. (never called cricket prior to moving)
I bought a verizon branded v3m phone programed for cricket.
Called and updated my esn.
Activated and got service in houston, yay.

I wanted mms so I flashed to the altel v3m monster following These instructions but i got stuck at step 4 (i know).

seriously i have dialed (and called) #073887* a hundred different ways in every menu and nothing happens. I read every post in that thread and couldn't believe no one else had this problem. (btw can I manually edit my min and mdn in a config file through bitpim or somthing?)

Next I flashed to the Cricket V3c monster 9.02 and tried to activate via *228 and I fail every time.

I keep getting lost in this confusing city and don't have a phone for directions, it sucks. Thanks for your help guys.
 
You need to get in the NAM and program a recognizable Cricket nuraber, or manually program the phone. It won't OTA with something that is Cricket in the NAM.

This is, however debateable. But in my Market, here in Piqua, thats how I have to do it.

Try using CDMA Workshop to edit the NAM.
 
I found the code to get into nam from this thread and successfully activated my phone. Huge props to g0new0rk by the way. Its 74663# clr clr if anyone neeRAB it.

Anywase, I would still like to use the altel v3m so I can use microsd and mp3 and stuff. So if anyone can tell me how to get into those nam settings that would be the best. Thanks again.

P.S. I love my cricket service but I absolutely HATE their customer service. I was told 20 different things by 5 different people and they all agreed that my phoenix nuraber wouldn't work in Houston. what a bunch of asses.
