VERIZON USERS come in! help ASAP!

Ok heres the deal its my friends birthday in a few days so i need to make a choice fast! i dont know anything about verizon phones cuz im a total gsm freak.

i didnt even know i could get cdma phones that werent offered on the official verizon website.

he currently has a vx9900 LG enV and isnt that like the best verizon phone there is?

im deciding in between the Samsung SCH-A990 , and Palm Treo 700p

are those phones better than the enV or no? theres no point in me to get a new phone for him if the enV is the best cdma phone out. i have no clue what he looks for in a phone, i know sometimes he uses his gps and sometimes he uses his camera on the phone, but thats about it.

if you konw of ANY other phones that are better than the enV please let me know cuz hes a total gadget freak. thanks in advance guys.
 
Keep in mind that it MUST be a Verizon branded phone to get onto the Verizon network. They will not allow any other phone from another carrier (Sprint). And you can't unlock a CDMA phone.
 
Wow quite a B-day present you're planning. Do they complain about the vx9900? Do they want/need a replacement? That phone just came out and one of the best phones VZW offers (not saying all that much tbh)

The a990 - no not worth it at all - they already have a 2mp camera so the 3.2mp on the a990 is not worth it in my opinion.
The Treo is a powerhouse of a phone, but a downgrade in camera. Do they want internet access, email, calendar/planner on their phone?

Unless they are complaining or are missing some functionality the vx9900 is probably making them happy enough. Maybe some phone-related gifts. Some miniSD cards and a carrying case - fill them up with music and video.
 
well if the env is the best phone out for verizon im probably just gonna get him the best bluetooth earpiece. what is the best bluetooth out right now? thanks
