verizon to tmobile for unlocked iPhone 2g?

i recently bought an iphone 2g of ebay and im rethinking my decision to switch from verizon to tmobile for an unlocked and jailbroken iphone. the plan that i might get is the same amount a month, is having a hacked phone worth switching carriers? because i really want an iphone and i dont want to pay 90$ a month for it
