This phone is super-easy to configure for wap/mms on cricket. You will need to find a copy of SamsungPSTLite, and also the SCH-A950 Plugin for SamsungPSTLite. And of course, samsung drivers and a data cable, but I'm assuming you have both of those. And finally, you have to know what neeRAB to be changed for cricket using that software, and a search for that will do wonders, or pm me if you're lazy.

I did one of these recently, and after inputting all of the needed items for cricket's wap, the phone just sort of worked. MMS worked also, with no tweaking... was sort of surprising.

Just wrote up some quick-n-dirty instructions for someone, got a couple more requests, so I'm posting them, as-is. Should be enough info for someone who's hacked a phone or two, for getting wap/mms on the a950. Nowhere near a writeup, was done from memory. If you try this, and my instructions make no sense, or don't follow what the software shows, lemme know and I'll install the software and make sure I'm remerabering things correctly.

You'll need the SamsungPSTLite software and the a950 plugin for that software. I just searched to see if I could send you a link to download it, and the software really only seems available at one site. I know it's where I originally got it from, but the site appears to be down:

For now though, I'm uploading the a950 software via rapiRABhare, should have a link in a few minutes. I can find no other source via google for this a950/pst software package. The SamsungPSTLite can be found as part of the WM5 upgrade package for the Verizon Samsung SPH-i730 pda phone. I couldn't easily find another source for the a950 plugin.

Once you install the PST and DLL, then you'll be able to easily edit the following items for cricket's mobile web...

Change mobile ip to simple ip
Change all instances of @vzw3g.com to @mycricket.com. This is your network login and it neeRAB to be [email protected]. It'll be labeled HDR Username, or SIP Username, or something like that. NeeRAB to be your 10-digit phone #, not mine, obviously.

Change all passworRAB that are "vzw" to "cricket".

Change all instances of verizon's proxy address (I think it's gw1.vzw3g.com and gw2.vzw3g.com) to wap.mycricket.com

Change all network ports to 8080. Really you only need to change the proxy port to 8080, but if you see others, like MMS, change those also.

If you see mms.vtext.com/servlets/mms, change it to mms.mycricket.com/servlets/mms

Also, make the substitutions I'm suggesting, but keep the rest of the field. For example, when I say:

If you see mms.vtext.com/servlets/mms, change it to mms.mycricket.com/servlets/mms

If the entire original value was:

http://mms.vtext.com/servlets/mms

don't change it to:

mms.mycricket.com/servlets/mms

I never said remove anything, so only change, and that might mean you have to edit the field to make a change to only part of it. So in this case, change it to:

http://mms.mycricket.com/servlets/mms

Then it is just like the original, only the verizon part of it has been substituted with the correct cricket info.

All of these various settings are scattered throughout the various settings sections available for edit in SamsungPSTLite. Some of them are read-only, but that's ok, those settings don't seem to keep it from working.

Make sure you have mobile web as an active feature on your cricket account if it doesn't work right away. When I did this, it just worked, didn't need any futzing around on the phone, that I recall...

Oh, here is enough of the rapiRABhare link to get you going....:

If I can post the entire link, moRAB please let me know and I'll edit and do so..
